Known issues: - Oe DBBC3 IFD (VGOS band B polarisation V) has significant loss of signal in correlated data, plus extra spikes every 1.7 MHz in the PCAL autocorr spectra. This problem has likely been present in all Oe data since 2019. Spurious pcal-like tones have been mentioned in some ready messages, but not in all. The problem is finally (after covid and other tasks) under investigation and may be hardware problem. Oe has successfully produced broadband delays in experiments so far, with this problem, so we will observe until we solve the issue. But, this may explain other peculiar issues with e.g. strange complex gain factors in polconvert for Oe data VGOS band B. Separate emails will be sent out with more information once we properly understand this issue. (It does not affect FS ONOFF measurements like Tsys, and is easily obscured in pseudo-stokes I formation, so not so easy to detect at first). Possibly important notes (but not issues): - Oe now running FS10, dbbc3 branch. This allows 1 Hz logging of DBBC3 multicast data, including TPI (and Tsys), directly to FS logfile. The log also includes all information necessary to calculate Tsys from TPI, i.e. the RXG contents with gain curve (now assumed flat) and Tcal vs frequency. Thus, the FS log (automatically upload to IVS) should contain everything needed for further processing. - VDIF payload size has been changed from 8192 bytes to 8000 bytes. For multi-file (datastream) correlation, this means using a total VDIF packet size of 8032 bytes instead of 8224 as it was before. No known issues, except Oe Band B pol V as already noted in ready message. ================================ vo1245oe STOP ================================= 2021-09-03 18:03:48 vo1245, Oe and Ow, stop message Oe and Ow finished vo1245 as planned. Logs uploaded to IVS. Known issues / comments: - Oe Band B pol V has suboptimal sensitivity, but not worse than usual. Downconversion board will be sent for repair first thing on monday. Hopefully this solves the problem in time for next VO session. - Oe and Ow FS logs now contain Tsys, TPI, Tcal and Gain information. The DBBC3 multicast reception appears to be periodically interrupted by some FS action, resulting in many "multicast reception error" messages in the FS log. This will be further investigated, as it appears to only happen when the FS is actually running and recording scans. (The preparation tests were not long enough for this to manifest clearly during the FS10 comissioning tests.) However, there seems to be enough Tsys data for most (all?) scans to allow calibration. ================================ vo1245ow READY ================================ 2021-09-02 14:28:21 vo1245, Ow, ready message Ow is ready for vo1245. No known issues. Possibly important notes (but not issues): - Ow now running FS10, dbbc3 branch.
