IVS-T2096 (International VLBI Service - Terrestical Reference Frame Observations) 2014 APR.08-09 doy 098-099 Institute for Geodesy and Geoinformation (IGGB) of the University of Bonn, Germany Nominal Start Time: 2014:098:17h30 UT Nominal End Time: 2014:099:17h30 UT Duration: 24.0 hr Correlator: HAYS Participating stations (18): ====================== Ai=AIRA Cc=CHICHI10 Sm=CRIMEA Hb=HOBART12 K1=KASHIM11 Ke=KATH12M Km=KUNMING Kg=KOGANEI Mc=MEDICINA Nt=NOTO Ny=NYALES20 Sh=SESHAN25 Ts=TSUKUB32 Vs=VERAISGK Vm=VERAMZSW Ww=WARK12M Wz=WETTZELL Yg=YARRA12M Purpose ======= General the purpose of the IVS-T2 sessions is to monitor the TRF via monthly sessions. Since April 2004 the purpose of the remaining IVS-T2 sessions has been changed by the IVS OPC (Observing Program Committee). The new plan uses larger networks for each T2 session, say 16 to 24 stations, but have fewer T2 sessions during the year. The larger network should provide a stronger solution and better TRF results, even if there are fewer sessions each year. The TRF determine from single session solutions or from a global solution is very important IVS product because this is an essential part for creating the ITRF by corresponding IERS Product Center. A particular strength of VLBI is its contribution to the scale of the ITRF. Usually the TRF is computed from the 24h sessions that are dedicated to observing the EOP. Network ======= The standard configuration of the monthly observed IVS-T2 experiments consists of sixteen and more stations. All stations differ in some extent between all available IVS geodetic network stations from experiment to experiment. Schedule ======== This schedule was generated by the last updated SKED version using the EUR-SX band and the 64-16(EU-T2) EURSX-C-4 frequency setup, depending on which station are available for this observation. Variable scan lengths with a minimum 15 sec. and the most recent source flux models are included. SNR goals are around 20 at X-band and S-band depent on different baselines and stations. The predicted SNRs used include a 30 ps noise contribution added in quadrature, which is a typical magnitude for the reweight constants applied in SOLVE solutions. Some important optimization features enabled for this experiment : - the covariance analysis during schedule generation considers the previous 1 hours of observations, - minor SKED optimization parameters . maximum number of observations, . minimum time, were optimized over the best ( in a covariance sense ) 75% of the possible observations, this produces a somewhat more even sky distribution, - observations were weighted by their expected SNRs, - 30 ps noise contribution added, - mimimum time between observations of the same radio source was set to 20 min Comment ======= DSS6a and Westford can not participate in this experiment Crimea was scheduled in tag-alog mode Session Notes for session: t2096 =========================================================== Experiment: T2096 Description IVS-T2.096 Scheduler: IGGB/Muesk Correlator: HAYS Start: 2014-098-17:30:00 End: 2014-099-17:30:01 Current yyyyddd: 2014098 (2014.27) ( 16756 MJD, TUES 8APR.) =========================================================== There are no observations for Wettzell from 18:20 U.T. to 19:40 U.T.
