Session Notes for AUST22 session Prepared by Jing Sun, Vienna University of Technology Prepared with VIE_SCHED This session is for astrometry. The current selection of sources is: (provided by Oleg Titov) 1. All sources for ASTROMETRIC sessions are selected in such way to be observed many times at higher elevation angles. Observing close to the horizont are not mandatory. 2. It is not necessary to cover the whole celestial sphere because this session is designed for ASTROMETRY but geodesy and EOP. Therefore, the northern hemisphere sources could be ignored without lost of precision. 3. A substantional number of ICRF2 defining sources having a good observational history is highly desirable to tie the newly observed targets with the well-established ones. Some of the potential ICRF2 defining candidated are observed occasionally, and their fluxes are not reliable. Therefore, I decided to rely on some strong ICRF2 defining sources for insurance.
