IVS-OHIG37 (Continuous Observations of the Rotation of the Earth and South terrestical reference frame network) 2005 Feb. 033/034 Geodetic Institute of the University of Bonn, Germany Correlator: see Multi Agency Schedule 2005 Purpose ======= The purpose of the CORE-OHIG (Southern Terrestrial Reference Frame) sessions is to tie together optimally the sites in the southern hemisphere. The participating sites include all the sites in the south F Ft FORTLEZA Mark3A/ thick tape H Ho HOBART26 Mark5 only J Hh HartRao Mark4/ thin tape A Kk KOKEE VLBA/ thin tape P Oh OHIGGINS VLBA4/ thin tape C Tc TIGOCONC VLBA4/ thin tape S Sy Syowa/Jap K5/ Mk5 Because these sessions concentrate on the southern sites and do not use observing time to accurately tie these sites to far northern sites (as the Global Sessions do) they should yield a very accurate regional TRF around the South Pole. Schedule ======== This is a schedule generated with the automatic mode of sked using the variable scan length with a minimum of 90 seconds. The most recent and updated source flux models are included. SNR goals are 20/20 at X-band and 20/20 at S-band for all stations. The predicted SNRs used include a 30 ps noise contribution added in quadrature, which is a typical size for the reweight constants size for the reweight constants required in SOLVE solutions. This schedule was optimized by different features: - the covariance analysis during schedule generation considers the previous 2 hours of observations, - minor SKED optimization parameters . maximum number of observations, were optimized over the best (in a covariance sense) 75% of the possible observations, this produces a somewhat more even sky distribution, - observations were weighted by their expected SNRs, - 30 ps noise contribution added, - mimimum time between observations of the same radio source was set to 25 min - use of CvgONLY in order to improve the geometry of observation This schedule was made using 60 sources which helped improve the sky coverage. Procedures ========== Please generate the procedures for this session using drudg. Except of Syowa station who have to prepare K4 setup procedures with the existing skd file. NO PREPASS TIME: There is no time allowed in the schedule for prepassing tapes. Therefore all tapes needed for this experiment must be pre-checked before the start of this experiment. FREQUENCY SEQUENCE: The standard EUR2-SX(2Mhz) frequency sequence is used for all CORE-OHIG experiments. Remark ====== Syowa tapes or Mk5 disk will need probably one year or more before they are received at Correlator side. On this account all participate stations should recorded data on magnetic tape (except of Hobart). The present world wide Mk5 unit situation, forced us to handle in this way. =========================================================== Parameter values for experiment OHIG37 Experiment description: IVS-OHIG37 Scheduler: mueskens Nominal start: 2005-033-18:00:00 Nominal end: 2005-034-18:00:00 Current yyyyddd: 2005033 (2005.09) ( 13404 MJD, WED. 2FEB.)
