During this experiment two stations, Kokee and Wettzell observe 22 consecutive 60 minutes long Intensive schedules, while 6 other stations observe a usual 24 hour schedule in the style of R1/R4 sessions. Since the accuracy of UT1 from a multi-baseline 24 hour session is by the factor of 4-6 better than the accuracy of UT1 from a 60 minutes long one-baseline experiment, the differences between the UT1 angle determined from analysis of each Intensive schedule and the UT1 derived at the same epoch from analysis of a 24 hour session can be considered as errors of intensive experiments. One 24 hour experiment provides sufficient amount of data in order to make a judgment about accuracy of UT1 determined from intensive experiment. =========================================================== Kokee and Wettzell will participate in INT301 at 18:30 U.T. The Mark5 modules will be sent to the Washington Correlator as soon as possible. Then Kokee and Wettzell will start the intensive portion of the RD0408 schedule. Fairbanks will record on Mark IV tapes. Tsukuba will record using K5 and transfer their data via e-vlbi to Haystack. =========================================================== The schedule consists of two disjoint sub-networks: KOKEE-WETTZELL and ALGOPARK-GILCREEK-HOBART-NYALES20-KOKEE-WESTSFORD. There are no common scans between two subnetworks. In step one, the schedule for KOKEE/WETTZELL baseline was prepared using AutoSked option of SKED software. ** More information on the first part will provided next week. The .txt file will then be reposted to cddisa.**** In step two, 6 other stations, ALGOPARK, GILCREEK, HOBART, NYALES20, KOKEE, WESTSFORD were scheduled. a. The setup for step one was used to produce this part of the schedule. b. The best 60 sources, for the 6 station network, from the sources.cat.geodetic.plus catalog was used to create the source list for the non-Intensive portion of this session. The fluxes from the intensive portion of the schedule were used. c. The schedule was made with the main network of Algonquin, Hobart, Fairbanks, Kokee, and Westford. Ny Alesund was tagged along to the main network. =========================================================== SKED Summary from file ./rd0408.skd for experiment RD0408 (all scans with at least one subnet station) Average number of obs. per baseline per source (normalized by up-time) = .4 Min = .0 Max = 53.3 (Baseline Kk-Wz on 2106+143) RMS = 2.7 Total time: 1440 minutes ( 24.0 hours).
