Parameter values for experiment RD0404 Experiment description: R&D Scheduler: UBonn Correlator: HAYSTACK Nominal start: 2004-168-18:00:00 Nominal end: 2004-169-18:00:00 Current yyyyddd: 2004168 (2004.46) ( 13173 MJD, WED. 16JUN.) Greenwich sidereal time: 11:41:21.00 (18: 0: 0 UT) Sun's RA and DEC: 5h 42.2m 23d 22.5 =========================================================== Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to assess the accuracy of UT1 angles determined from the current 60 minutes long Intensive experiments. During this experiment two stations, Kokee and Wettzell observe 24 consecutive 60 minutes long Intensive schedules, while 6 other stations observe a usual 24 hour schedule in the style of R1/R4 sessions. Since the accuracy of UT1 from a multi-baseline 24 hour session is by the factor of 4-6 better than the accuracy of UT1 from a 60 minutes long one-baseline experiment, the differences between the UT1 angle determined from analysis of each Intensive schedule and the UT1 derived at the same epoch from analysis of a 24 hour session can be considered as errors of intensive experiments. One 24 hour experiment provides sufficient amount of data in order to make a judgment about accuracy of UT1 determined from intensive experiment. =========================================================== First observations Source Start DURATIONS name yyddd-hhmmss Ap Ft Gc Kk Ny Ts Wf Wz 0552+398 04168-180000| 89 89| 1044+719 04168-180000| 40 48 48 | 4C39.25 04168-180000| 200 200 127 | =========================================================== Last observations Source Start DURATIONS name yyddd-hhmmss Ap Ft Gc Kk Ny Ts Wf Wz CTA26 04169-173021| 40 120 120 | 0642+449 04169-173038| 40 40| 1739+522 04169-173224| 47 47| 0059+581 04169-173506| 40 40 40 40 40 | 0133+476 04169-173534| 94 94| 0552+398 04169-173752| 98 98| 1357+769 04169-173837| 40 107 158 60 158 | 0059+581 04169-174020| 40 40| 3C371 04169-174143| 84 84| 0718+793 04169-174306| 40 127 181 122 181 | 0642+449 04169-174406| 40 40| 0749+540 04169-174545| 188 188| NRAO150 04169-174702| 40 40 | 0133+476 04169-175116| 109 109| 0552+398 04169-175350| 92 92| 0602+673 04169-175615| 167 167| =========================================================== The schedule consists of two disjoint sub-networks: KOKEE-WETTZELL and ALGOPARK-GILCREEK-FORTLEZA-NYALES20-TSUKUB32-WESTSFORD. There are no common scans between two subnetworks. In step one, the schedule for KOKEE/WETTZELL baseline was prepared using AutoSked option of SKED software. This part of schedule is a sequence of 24 consecutive separate sub-schedules. Start time for each sub-schedule was fixed to the beginning of each clock hour. These sub-schedules were prepared with the primary goal of being as close as possible to the schedules of the regular INT1 sessions. Sked setup for sub-schedules Sources were selected from sources.cat.geodetic.plus and the same sources were used as in standard INT1 sessions. Minimum SNR is 20 for X-Band and 15 for S-Band. Minimum scan duration is 40 seconds and maximum duration is 200 seconds. Minimum elevation is 8. Each session lasts one hour. Procedure of scheduling: a. The parameters of AUTOSKED were adopted from usual INT1 schedules: CovONLY Last 1h Max#Obs MinTime LoclCov Best25% LatLonH SNRwts Add30ps LoEl12d RiseSet MinSlew Betw10m b. AutoSked was run separately for each of the 24 sessions. c. After that it was checked, whether all possible low declination sources were used which was always the case. d. Solve simulation runs were made for all sessions and the results were compared to those of standard INT1 schedules distributed all over the year 2003. e. After the 24 sessions were merged together, the completed schedule was auto shifted to remove timing errors, so some of the sub-schedules do not start on even clock hours. In step two, 6 other stations, ALGOPARK, GILCREEK, FORTLEZA, NYALES20, TSUKUB32, WESTSFORD a. The setup for step one was used with some modifications to the parameters. The changes were as follows: Best60% Betw30m b. The best 60 sources, for the 6 station network, from the sources.cat.geodetic.plus catalog was used to create the source list for the non-Intensive portion of this session. c. The schedule was made with the main network of Algonquin, Forataleza, Ny Alesund, Tsukuba, and Westford. Fairbanks was tagged along to the main network.
