SYOWA-ANT27 (Syowa Antarctic VLBI experiment) 2003 Aug. 06 Notes prepared by Yoshihiro FUKUZAKI Geographical Survey Institute, Japan Schedule name: syw027.skd on CDDISA SUBNET Hh Ho Sy station key codes: Hh=HARTRAO Ho=HOBART26 Sy=SYOWA Nominal Start: 08:00 U.T. on Aug. 06 (day 218) name yyddd-hhmmss Hh Ho Sy 1057-797 03218-080000| 230 200 230| Duration: 24 hours Nominal Stop: 08:00 U.T. on Aug. 07 (day 219) name yyddd-hhmmss Hh Ho Sy 0637-752 03219-080600| 90 90 90| Correlator: Mitaka (or Kashima) Purpose ======= The purpose of the SYOWA-ANT (Syowa Antarctic VLBI experiment) sessions is to strengthen reference frame in the southern hemisphere and to detect Antarctica plate motion. Schedule ======== This is a new schedule generated with the automatic mode of sked using the variable scan length with a minimum of 90 seconds. SNR goals are 20 at X-band and 15 at S-band for all stations. This schedule was optimized by different features: - observations were weighted by their expected SNRs, - 30 ps noise contribution added, - mimimum time between observations of the same radio source was set to 20 min - use of CvgONLY in order to improve the geometry of observation This schedule was made using 34 sources which helped improve the sky coverage. Procedures ========== Please generate the procedures for this session using drudg. In Syowa station, skd file is read by K4-FS directly. Please send messages of ready, start and end of experiment at your station to ivs-ops@ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov. Please put log file onto cddisa. NO PREPASS TIME: There is no time allowed in the schedule for prepassing tapes. Therefore all tapes needed for this experiment must be pre-checked before the start of this experiment. FREQUENCY SEQUENCE: Modified standard CDP-SX (4MHz) frequency sequence is used for all SYOWA-ANT experiments. The frequency sequence of S band is changed to avoid interference in Hobart. Please verify that the frequency of BBC is correct. THIS SCHEDULE HAS A 150 SECOND EARLY TAPE START ----------------------------------------------- THE CABLE CONNECTION BETWEEN BBC AND SAMPLER IS 'PARALLEL.' ----------------------------------------------------------- SKED Summary from file syw027.skd for experiment SYW027 (all scans with at least one subnet station) SOURCE |0 3 6 9 12 15 18 21 | #SCANS #OBS #Obs/bl 0003-066I x x x R S I 3 3 2.1 0048-097I x x x x xR S I 5 5 3.6 0104-408I x S x x x x x x x R x I 9 13 7.0 0119+041I x x R S I 2 2 1.5 0208-512I x x x x x S x x x x x x x x x x x x Rx x xI 20 36 20.0 0229+131IS x I 1 1 .8 CTA26 Ix x S x R I 3 7 5.2 0402-362I x x S x x x R I 6 6 3.3 0454-234IR x x S x x x x x x I 8 12 7.8 0458-020I R S x I 1 1 .7 0528+134IS x x x I 3 3 2.4 0537-441I R S x x I 2 2 1.1 0637-752I x Rx x x x x Sx x x x x I 11 21 10.5 0727-115I R x S x x x I 4 6 4.2 0823+033I R S x x x x I 5 5 3.7 0920-397I R S I 0 0 .0 1034-293I x Rx x x Sx x x x x x x I 11 17 10.7 1057-797I R x x S I 2 6 3.4 1104-445I R S x x I 2 2 1.1 1124-186I x x R x S x I 4 6 3.8 1144-379I x R S x x x I 4 4 2.3 1219+044I R S I 2 2 1.5 1255-316I x x x x R S I 4 4 2.1 1334-127I R x x Sx x x x x x I 8 12 8.3 1351-018I R S I 0 0 .0 1424-418I xR x x x x x S x x I 8 18 11.0 1606+106I x R S x x x x x I 7 7 5.5 1610-771I R x S I 1 3 1.7 1741-038I x R x S x x x x x x x I 11 15 10.9 1749+096IS I 0 0 .0 1815-553I S R x x x x x I 5 5 3.4 1921-293Ix x x x x x x x R x x S I 11 15 8.9 1954-388I x R x S x I 3 5 3.2 1958-179I x x x Rx x x x S x x x x I 11 19 12.4 2121+053I R S I 0 0 .0 2128-123I x R S I 1 1 .8 2145+067I R S x I 1 1 .8 2255-282I x R x S I 2 2 1.2 Total scans, obs: 181 267 Average number of obs. per baseline per source (normalized by up-time) = 4.4 Min = .0 Max = 24.4 (Baseline HH-Sy on 0208-512) RMS = 5.4 Total time: 1447 minutes ( 24.1 hours).
