SYOWA-ANT6 (Syowa Antarctic VLBI experiment) 1999 Oct. 7 Notes prepared by Yoshihiro FUKUZAKI 40th Japanese Antarctica Research Expedition Schedule name: syw996.skd distributed by e-mail SUBNET Hh Ho Sy station key codes: Hh=HARTRAO Ho=HOBART26 Sy=SYOWA Nominal Start: 08:00 U.T. on Oct. 7 (day 280) name yyddd-hhmmss Hh Ho Sy 1057-797 99280-080000| 160 120 160 | Duration: 24 hours Nominal Stop: 08:00 U.T. on Oct. 8 (day 281) name yyddd-hhmmss Hh Ho Sy 0637-752 99281-080600| 120 120 120 | Correlator: Mitaka Purpose ======= The purpose of the SYOWA-ANT (Syowa Antarctic VLBI experiment) sessions is to strengthen reference frame in the southern hemisphere and to detect Antarctica plate motion. Schedule ======== This is a new schedule generated with the automatic mode of sked using the variable scan length with a minimum of 120 seconds. SNR goals are 20 at X-band and 15 at S-band for all stations. This schedule was optimized by different features: - observations were weighted by their expected SNRs, - 30 ps noise contribution added, - mimimum time between observations of the same radio source was set to 20 min - use of CvgONLY in order to improve the geometry of observation This schedule was made using 32 sources which helped improve the sky coverage. Procedures ========== Please generate the procedures for this session using drudg. Please hand edit .snp file for late stop. In Syowa station, skd file is read by K4-FS directly. Please send messages of ready, start and end of experiment at your station to ivs-ops@ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov and fukuzaki@syowa.nipr.ac.jp. Please put log file onto cddisa. NO PREPASS TIME: There is no time allowed in the schedule for prepassing tapes. Therefore all tapes needed for this experiment must be pre-checked before the start of this experiment. FREQUENCY SEQUENCE: Modified standard CDP-SX (4MHz) frequency sequence is used for all SYOWA-ANT experiments. >From this experiment, the frequency sequence of S band is changed to avoid interference in Hobart. Please verify that the frequency of BBC is correct. THIS SCHEDULE HAS A 150 SECOND EARLY TAPE START ----------------------------------------------- THE CABLE CONNECTION BETWEEN BBC AND SAMPLER IS 'PARALLEL.' ----------------------------------------------------------- Summary ======= SKED Summary from file syw996.skd for experiment SYW996 (all scans with at least one subnet station) SOURCE |0 3 6 9 12 15 18 21 | #SCANS #OBS #Obs/bl 0003-066I R S x I 1 1 .7 0048-097I x x R x S x x I 5 7 4.9 0104-408I x x x x x Rx x x x S xI 11 21 12.2 0119+041I x R x S x x x x I 6 6 4.5 0208-512Ix S x x x x x x x x x x x x xR x x x x x I 20 34 18.1 0229+131IS x x I 2 2 1.6 CTA26 I R S I 1 1 .8 0402-362I x S x x x R I 4 6 3.3 0454-234I x S x x x x x x x x xR x x x I 13 21 13.5 0458-020I x x R S I 2 2 1.4 0528+134IS x x xI 3 3 2.4 0537-441I x x S x R I 3 7 4.3 0637-752I x x x xS x x x x R x I 10 20 10.1 0727-115I x S x x x x x x x x x R x I 12 18 12.5 0823+033IR x S x x x x x I 6 8 6.0 0920-397I R S x I 1 1 .5 1034-293I R x x S x x x x x x x x x I 11 15 9.2 1057-797I R x x x S I 3 9 5.1 1104-445I R S x x x x I 4 4 2.5 1124-186I x R x S x x xI 6 8 5.1 1144-379I R x x x x S x x x I 7 15 8.9 1219+044I R S I 0 0 .0 1255-316Ix x x R x x x x S x x x I 11 19 11.5 1334-127I R S I 0 0 .0 1351-018I R S I 0 0 .0 1424-418I x x R x S x x I 5 7 4.1 1606+106I x R S x x x x x I 8 8 6.3 1610-771I R x x S I 2 6 3.4 1741-038I x R x x S x x x x x x x x x I 13 17 12.4 1749+096IS I 0 0 .0 1815-553I x x x x R x x x x S I 8 8 4.1 1921-293I x x x Rx x x S I 6 12 7.3 1954-388I x R x S x x x I 5 7 4.4 1958-179I x R x x x xS x x x x x x I 11 19 12.6 2121+053I R S I 0 0 .0 2128-123I x Rx S I 2 2 1.5 2145+067I R S I 0 0 .0 2255-282I x x R x S x I 5 7 4.3 Total scans, obs: 207 321 Average number of obs. per baseline per source (normalized by up-time) = 5.3 Min = .0 Max = 25.7 (Baseline HH-Sy on 1741-038) RMS = 5.7 Total time: 1448 minutes ( 24.1 hours).
