CORE-OHIG4 (Continuous Observations of the Rotation of the Earth and South terrestical reference frame network) 1999 Feb. 04 Notes prepared by Arno Mueskens Geodetic Institute of the University of Bonn, Germany Schedule name: cohig4.skd on CDDISA SUBNET Ft Hh Ho Kk Oh Sy Nominal Start: 12:00 U.T. on Feb. 04 (day 35) name yyddd-hhmmss Ft Hh Ho Kk Sy 0637-752 99035-120000| 100 100| 1749+096 99035-120001| 70 70 | 0458-020 99035-120422| 80 80 80| Duration: 24 hours Nominal Stop: 12:00 U.T. on Feb. 05 (day 36) name yyddd-hhmmss Ft Hh Ho Kk Sy 1954-388 99036-115643| 120 120 120| 1144-379 99036-115918| 70 70 | Correlator: Bonn Purpose ======= The purpose of the CORE-OHIG (Southern Terrestrial Reference Frame) sessions is to tie together optimally the sites in the southern hemisphere. The participating sites include all the sites in the south - O'Higgins, Fortaleza, Hartebeesthoek, and Hobart - as well as Kokee Park. The last site is the southern-most of the northern sites and have been included to make the geometry more robust and to increase the number of observations per scan. Because these sessions concentrate on the southern sites and do not use observing time to accurately tie these sites to far northern sites (as the Global Sessions do) they should yield a very accurate regional TRF around the South Pole. Syowa (Japan/Antartika) are willing to participate in this experiment. The characteristics of this network have changed slightly due to more weigh of the southern part. Schedule ======== This is a new schedule generated with the automatic mode of sked using the variable scan length with a minimum of 70 seconds. The most recent and updated source flux models are included. SNR goals are 20(15) at X-band and 15(12) at S-band for all stations. The predicted SNRs used include a 30 ps noise contribution added in quadrature, which is a typical size for the reweight constants size for the reweight constants required in SOLVE solutions. This schedule was optimized by different features: - the covariance analysis during schedule generation considers the previous 2 hours of observations, - minor SKED optimization parameters . maximum number of observations, were optimized over the best ( in a covariance sense ) 65% of the possible observations, this produces a somewhat more even sky distribution, - observations were weighted by their expected SNRs, - 30 ps noise contribution added, - mimimum time between observations of the same radio source was set to 20 min - use of CvgONLY in order to improve the geometry of observation This schedule was made using 60 sources which helped improve the sky coverage. Except of Syowa station who have to prepare K4 setup procedures with the existing skd file. NO PREPASS TIME: There is no time allowed in the schedule for prepassing tapes. Therefore all tapes needed for this experiment must be pre-checked before the start of this experiment. FREQUENCY SEQUENCE: The standard CDP-SX (2Mhz) frequency sequence is used for this experiment. THIS SCHEDULE HAS A 15 SECOND EARLY TAPE START: ----------------------------------------------- To gain synchronization time at the correlator. O'HIGGINS excluded from this schedule due to problems in the cooling system --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary ======= SKED Summary from file cohig4.skd for experiment C-OHIG4 (all scans with at least one subnet station) SOURCE |0 6 12 18 | #SCANS #OBS #Obs/bl 0003-066I xxxx xx x xxx x x I 12 20 4.5 0048-097I x x xx x x xx xxx x x xxI 15 23 5.0 0059+581I x x x x I 4 4 1.9 0104-408Ixxxx x xxx xx x x x xx x xx xx x x xI 23 58 11.0 0119+115I xx I 2 2 .5 0119+041I xxxx x x x x I 8 8 1.9 0208-512I xx x xx xxx I 8 16 2.9 0229+131I x xxx x xx x I 9 9 2.3 CTA26 I xx xxx xxxx xx x xx x I 16 24 5.5 0402-362I xxx x x xxx xx xx x x x I 15 43 8.3 0454-234I xxx xxx xxx xxxx xxx xx xxxx xxxx xxx x x x I 34 70 13.8 0458-020I x I 1 3 .7 0528+134I x xxxxx xxx x xx xxxxx xxx I 21 27 6.3 0537-441I x x x I 3 9 1.7 0552+398I x x x x x x I 6 6 1.7 0637-752I x x x x x I 5 13 2.4 0727-115Ixxxx x xx xx xxx xxxx x xx x x xx x xxx I 30 50 10.7 0749+540I x xx xx I 5 5 2.4 0804+499I x I 1 1 .5 0805+410I x I 1 1 .3 0823+033I x I 1 3 .7 OJ287 Ixxx x xxxxxx x xxxx x xx xI 19 19 4.9 0920-397I x x I 2 6 1.2 4C39.25 Ixxx xxx xx x xx I 11 11 2.8 0955+476I x I 1 1 .5 1034-293I x xxxxxxx xxxx xx x x x I 17 47 8.9 1057-797I x x x x I 4 15 3.1 1124-186Ixxx xx xxx x xxx xxxxx xxx xxxx x x x xxI 29 53 10.5 1128+385I x I 1 1 1.2 1144-379I x xxx xx x xxxx xxxx xx x x x x x I 22 55 10.6 1255-316I x I 1 1 .2 1308+326I x x xxx xx I 7 7 3.2 1334-127I xxx xx xxxxx x xxx x x I 17 25 5.4 1351-018I x xxx xxxx xxx I 11 11 2.7 1357+769I x x I 2 2 1.5 1424-418I xx x x xx xxx x xx x xx xxx xx xI 21 45 8.5 1606+106I xxxxxxxxxx xxx I 13 13 3.2 1610-771I x x x xI 4 10 1.9 1622-253Ix xx xxxx xxx xx x x xx xxxxxxxxxx x I 27 53 10.3 NRAO512 I x x x x xx x I 7 7 2.0 1739+522I x x x x I 4 4 1.9 1741-038Ixx x xxx xxx xxx x x xxx x xxxxxxx xxxxI 29 51 11.3 1749+096Ix x x xxx xxx xxxx x x xxx x I 19 31 6.8 1815-553I x x x x x x I 6 16 3.2 1921-293Ixxx x x xx xxx xxx xxx x xx x x xx x xxxxI 29 67 13.2 1954-388Ix xx x xx xxx x x xxxx xxx xx x xx xI 25 63 12.2 1958-179Ixxx xx x xxx xx xxx xxxx x xx x x x xx x xxxxI 31 71 14.3 2121+053I xx xxx x x xxxxI 12 14 3.3 2145+067I x x x x x I 5 5 1.1 2255-282I x x x xx xxxx I 9 23 4.7 Total scans, obs: 605 1122 Average number of obs. per baseline per source (normalized by up-time) = 4.3 Min = .0 Max = 32.3 (Baseline Ho-Kk on 1308+326) RMS = 7.3 Total time: 1440 minutes ( 24.0 hours).
