EUROPE-2/97 (EUROPEAN Geodetic VLBI Network session 6/96) Notes prepared by Axel Nothnagel, University of Bonn Geodetic Institute Date of experiment: 1997 March 17 Nominal start time: 14h30 UT Nominal end time: 14h30 UT on March 17 Duration: 24 hrs Correlator: Bonn Participating stations: Station Code Wettzell Wz Matera Mr Medicina Mc Onsala On Noto Nt Simeiz Sm Ny Alesund Ny Yebes Yb Tape usage and scans to be observed: See summary of schedule below Purpose ======= The purpose of this experiment is to determine station coordinates and their evolution in the European geodetic VLBI network with the highest precision possible. Schedule ======== The schedule was produced by Axel Nothnagel using the automatic mode of sked. The schedule was optimized for local sky coverage. Crimea was scheduled in tag-along mode with a "maximum scan number" approach in order to be prepared for a short-notice drop-out of the station due to electricity shortage. The first scan was scheduled for 180 sec on 0552+398 in order to facilitate fringe search. The minimum SNR on all baselines is 25 at X band and 15 at S band. The schedule was made with the early tape start (15 seconds) feature. Wettzell was excluded for IRIS-Intensive between 16h27 and 18h40 on March 17. Procedures ========== The frequency sequence, EUR-SX, used for all recent EUROPE experiments will also be used for this experiment.
