All three of the CORE-B networks were designed to have EOP precision comparable to the NEOS and CORE-A networks. Although simultaneous data would be best for comparison of EOP, it is not always feasible, and therefore the CORE-B experiments are scheduled as close as possible in time to the NEOS sessions. Because the Earth can change its orientation significantly from hour to hour, data from the CORE-B networks will be useful for comparisons only at the "seams" between observing days. The comparison will be done by examining the data from the last hour of the NEOS session and the first hour of the CORE-B session to see if they agree within the error bars and whether the trend of the hourly signal between the two days is smooth. In effect the NEOS/CORE-B sessions will give us 18 "mini- CONTs" of 48 hours length in 1997. Schedule ======== This is a new schedule generated by C. Thomas with the automatic mode of sked. The following are the characteristics of the schedule: 1) This schedule was optimized for sky coverage. 2) Only the observations in the previous two hours of the schedule were considered for the minor options. The best 60% of the configurations were considered for minor options. 3) The "minor options" were set to select observations to maximize the total number of observations, to minimize the idle time between scans, and to minimize time between scans on the same source by twenty minutes. 5) The minimum SNR limits for most baselines were set to 20 for X-band and 15 for S-band. 6) This schedule was made using 45 sources which helped improve the sky coverage. 7) The source models were updated as of the middle of December by Dave Shaffer. Procedures ========== There are no special procedures for this experiment. Please use your standard SGP procedures. Materials ========= A supply of mailing labels and red dots for used tapes has been shipped to each station. Correlation ========== This experiment will be correlated at the Haystack Correlator with all baselines being correlated.
